The Public Utility Commission of Texas has deregulated the electricity industry to increase competition among Retail Electric Providers (REPs) and lower utility rates for Texans. Deregulation allows you to choose who provides your energy service instead of being limited by a specific coverage area.

The PUC has setup a public website for consumers to compare the rates of Retail Electric Providers. You can find more information and compare rates at www.powertochoose.org.
